Camp Susque 2012 Summer Chaplains

Adventure Camp

      Corey Mitchell. This will be Corey's first time as a chaplain at Camp Susque! Corey is the Pastor at Winfield Baptist Church in Winfield, Pa. He has been to Susque several times with his church youth group on retreats. When not preaching, Corey can be found doing lots of outdoorsy things such as hunting, camping, and canoeing. Corey & his wife, Heather, have 4 children: Emma Ruth, Maximos Malachi, Lucy Lillian and Meg Alice.

Boys Camp Week 1

     Joe Fauth is the senior pastor of Calvary Bible Church in Wrightsville, PA. He resides there with his wife Joanie and their children. Joe is not a new face to Susque. In fact, this is Joe's 3rd time here! He's previously been a chaplain for our Homeschool Family Camp and Girls' Camp. We welcome Joe back for another great week!

Boys Camp Week 2

       Ken Baney. "A blast from the past!" Ken was a chaplain here during the mid 80's to the mid 90's. A chaplain for both Boys' and Girls' camps, Ken has done it all. He continues to serve in ministry at his church and has recently reconnected with Susque after a long hiatus. After attending our Spring Work Weekend, Ken is eager to serve campers again.

Boys Camp Week 3

Paulo Freire. Paulo and his wife, Lisa, are staff favorites! Paulo will be joining us for his 2nd time as a Boys' Camp chaplain. Though originally from South America, Paulo now hails from New Jersey, where he is the pastor of Hope Evangelical Free Church in Sussex. Paulo and Lisa have two sons. Welcome back Paulo!

Girls Camp Week 1

Tom Bowers. Tom Bowers was the youth pastor at one of our largest supporting churches, the energetic First Presbyterian Church of Lewisburg, PA, before he moved to Jacksonville, FL with his wife Deb. He is now the youth pastor at The Village Church at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, FL. Tom has been wanting to chaplain here for 10 years and finally got his chance to do it for the first time last year at Boys' Camp! He was a huge hit and we're really excited to welcome Tom and Deb to Girls' Camp!

Girls Camp Week 2

      Tim Halteman. Tim along with his wife, Lauren, are the current (see Tom Bowers above) co-directors of Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg, PA. While this will be Tim and Lauren's first time speaking at Susque, they are no strangers to the camping ministry. They met while working together at Krislund Camp and Conference Center. We are excited to have the Haltemans minister here at Susque!

Girls Camp Week 3

Jerry Fourroux. This will be Jerry's first time as a chaplain at Camp Susque! In 2011, Jerry became the pastor of Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church in Cogan Station, PA, one of our long-time supporting churches. Jerry and his wife, Hesed, have two sons, J.D. and recent arrival, Zedek. We are excited to welcome Jerry into the fellowship!

Homeschool Family Camp

Bill Klees. What should we say about Bill? He is the pastor of Community Alliance Church in Towanda, PA. He resides there with his wife, Heather, and their 4 children, Avery, Natalie, Emma, and Alan. Almost everyone knows Bill and Heather thanks to Bill's term here as our first full-time Program Director. Bill and Heather remain very involved in Susque and we are happy to have them back for a week. Everyone watch out! The corny jokes are coming.

Classic Family Camp

David Morris. David Morris returns again for Classic Family Camp! After nearly twenty years of pastoral ministry, David became a conference speaker/evangelist. Hailing from North Carolina, he is known for Southern Gospel preaching. David and his wife, Terri, have six children. David is a favorite with the Classic Family Camp crowd and we are pleased to welcome him back again!
